Help

Connect your Gmail inbox

  1. Select Sign in with Google and choose the Gmail account that receives your lead emails.
  2. Google shows a screen that says Google hasn't verified this app. That is expected while Google finishes reviewing us. Select Advanced, then the link at the bottom that starts with Go to.
  3. On the next Google screen, tick the box to let us view your email, then select Continue.

What to expect: You land on your dashboard with a confirmation and the inbox shows as Active. We then look over the last two weeks of mail to learn what your lead emails look like.

If something is off

  • If you see a message that read access was not granted, start again and tick the email box on the Google screen.
  • If you see a message that this account is not on the list, sign in with the email address your provider set up for you, or ask them to add it.
  • If you do not see Advanced on the unverified screen, make sure the page is fully loaded and scroll down.

What we can and cannot do with your inbox

  1. Right after you connect, we look over the last two weeks of mail once to learn what your lead emails look like. We keep only the sender, subject and a short preview of each email, and delete them after 30 days.
  2. After that, we read only messages that match your lead rules, such as website form notifications. Everything else is ignored.
  3. Access is read only. We never send, delete, archive, label or change any email.
  4. You can disconnect at any time from your dashboard or from your Google account settings.
  5. Your Google access key is encrypted before it is stored, and we keep lead details, not full email bodies.

What to expect: Your inbox looks exactly the same as before. The only change is that leads appear on your dashboard.

If something is off

  • To review or remove access from Google directly, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Disconnect an inbox

  1. Open your dashboard and find the inbox under Connected inboxes.
  2. Select Disconnect. We revoke our access at Google right away.

What to expect: The inbox shows as Revoked and no new emails are read. Leads already captured stay on your dashboard until you ask us to delete them.

If something is off

  • To reconnect later, open your invite link again and sign in.
  • To delete captured leads, email ariel@cuttheedge.com from an owner address.

Lead statuses

  1. New: just arrived and passed every check.
  2. Needs review: something was missing or unclear. See Needs review.
  3. Ready: checked by a person and ready for follow up.
  4. Contacted, Replied, Booked: track your follow up as it happens.
  5. Closed: finished, for any reason. Opted out: asked not to be contacted.

What to expect: Change a status from the dropdown on any lead. The change saves immediately and is recorded.

If something is off

  • If a change does not stick, refresh the page and try again. Signing out and back in also helps.

Why a lead needs review

  1. A lead goes to review when a required detail is missing, when there is no usable email or phone number, or when it may belong to an existing lead.
  2. The Review reasons column says exactly what was off.
  3. Open the original email in Gmail, fix up your records, then set the status to Ready or Closed.

What to expect: Nothing is dropped silently. Anything the agent is unsure about lands here for a person to decide.

If something is off

  • If many leads need review for the same reason, your lead form may have changed. Tell your provider so the rules can be updated.

Check inbox now

  1. The agent checks connected inboxes automatically every few minutes.
  2. Select Check inbox now to run a check immediately, for example right after a test inquiry.

What to expect: A summary shows how many emails were checked, how many leads were added, and how many need review.

If something is off

  • If the check fails, the inbox may need reconnecting. Look for an Error status under Connected inboxes.
  • Emails that do not match your lead rules are counted as skipped. That is normal.

The two-week inbox scan

  1. When an inbox is first connected, we look over its last 14 days of incoming mail once.
  2. Simple rules set aside mail that is clearly not a lead, like receipts, newsletters, calendar invites and auto-replies.
  3. Everything else gets a quick AI check that sorts it into looks like a lead, unsure, or not a lead.
  4. Nothing is added to your leads list from this scan. It only shows us what your lead emails look like so the rules can be set up.

What to expect: Grouped by sender, so you can say which senders are real leads (for example your website form or a booking service) and which are noise.

If something is off

  • If the scan says Failed, the inbox may need reconnecting. Reconnect it, then select Scan last 14 days again.
  • We keep only the sender, subject and a short preview, and delete them after 30 days.
